Confucius was a Chinese teacher, editor, politician and philosopher of the Spring and Autumn period of the Chinese history.

A more correct translation from the original Chinese would be: "The Journey of a thousand miles begins beneath one's feet".

I think this phrase is very wise because evidently you can't start something without the first step. Is like if you want something, you can't wait for this to happen magically, you must start to make it happen.
